Fall is upon us; there’s a loss of warm air, a decrease in daylight, and the start of the school season. The leaves begin to reflect our wardrobe, transforming into colors of brown, burgundy, and butter yellow. A new school year means that there are new trends—and that’s definitely the case here at LM.
This fall, closets are being painted in warm, autumn tones.cOrange, olive-green, chocolate-brown, and all shades of burgundy are included in the palette. “I like the fall colors, especially the browns and reds. It’s a nice switch up from the bright colors of summer,” commented Elliott Boldin ’27. Neutrals such as navy, white, gray, and black are staples included in the mix. These varieties allow for a wide range of pairing options for any outfit’s color scheme.
Denim has made a major comeback this autumn, appearing in everything from jorts to low-rise jeans. Oversized attire has been dominating the halls, whether it’s a Parke mockneck sweatshirt or Nike joggers. Additionally, the matching sets from brands like Alo Yoga, Brandy Melville, Abercrombie, Vuori, and Set Active are in high demand due to their effortless coordination. The sets work perfectly when wanting to look put-together, or unsure of what to wear.
Layering is the key to fall style, and cardigans have officially returned as a top choice. Worn either off the shoulder, buttoned-up, or cropped, they add both warmth and personality to an outfit. Lightweight sweatshirts with a tank top underneath are a great way to bundle up in the morning but stay cool in the afternoon.
Shoes this season are all about comfort and practicality. Adidas Sambas and low-top sneakers continue to hold strong, as well as the classic Ugg boot—whether it’s the slipper or the mini’s, you are guaranteed to see them at LM. There are a variety of sneaker styles such as the Adidas Original Campus, Puma Palermo, Nike Killshot 2, Veja V-10, and Esplar that are popular among Main Line teens. Emily D’Alonzo ’26 expressed, “I’m really into chunky tennis shoes, especially New Balances.”
LM gives the opportunity for students to express themselves in any way they want, so there’s bound to be an array of outfits. Overall, the vibe of fall fashion in 2025 is cozy layering, statement accessories, and versatile neutrals. Whether it’s a baggy cardigan, bag charms, or colorful hair clips, back-to-school fashion is all about casual attire and, most importantly, individuality.
